Casa Pergola lies in an area called Maremma, a lesser known and therefore all the more captivating part of Tuscany, 25 km inland from the coast, close to the peninsula Monte Argentario. Casa Geranio can be rented together with the next door Casa Geranio. in total sleeping up to 9 persons. Beyond the borders of the estate you will discover an area rich in cultural landmarks, softly rolling landscape, good food and excellent wine, combining the charms of the Tuscan lifestyle with joys of an unspoilt coast. The center of the property is marked by the main villa dating from the 18th century. The host Laura Piccolomini d'Aragona spends most of her time here, sharing the simplicity of country life with her children and grand-children during the summer months.
Ground floor: large living and dining room with french windows into the garden, kitchen, 1 double bedroom with en-suite bath, 1 twin bedroom, 1 single (walk through room), 1 further bathroom.
The large pool measuring 12 x 6 m is located in a beautiful part of the garden of the estate, with a view over a seemingly endless landscape of rolling hills, utterly unspoilt, spotted with cypress trees and farmhouses here and there.
Upon request: you can order a first shopping, as well as a dinner on the evening of your arrival. A lady from the neighbouhood is an excellent cook and will gladly prepare the local specialities for you throughout the week. Extra household help, baby cot and high chair are also available.
Savoir Vivre: one reason to visit the world of the estate is the superb wining and dining in the surrounding area. The trattorias and wine cellars of the region are of the hightest quality. The surrounding woods full of wild boar and deer are their natural larder.
Country side: beyond the beaches with fine white sand, relaxation can be found in the surrounding hot water spas - Saturnia is at half an hours drive - and two 18-hole golf clubs in the vicinity.
The sea: try hiring a boat to the islands of Giglio and Giannutri. Charming villages, hidden creeks and romantic fortresses are to be discovered.
Destination history: the Maremma is considered the cradle of the Etruscan culture. Tarquinia und Tuscania boast worldwide famous sites which should not be missed. These are easy trips to take while you are staying at Casa Geranio or Casa Pergola.
